I love working with a family and creating images – I know from our own family that pictures of the kids as they’ve grown are some of my most treasured possessions. Harriet, our eldest has recently left for university – Law, can you believe it? Blimey, we’re going to have a lawyer in the family and now the pictures we have of her when she was little just take me straight back to when she was tiny and much less argumentative!

So imagine the joy of photographing Mikey and Kate and their twin girls Aoife and Ella! I’ve known Mikey and Kate for quite a long time as they both work at Le Manoir but it was the first time I’ve met the two girls – and they were hilarious! How can you have such big characters in such small people?
The weather has been pretty much perfect for the photographer this year – plenty of warmth and sunshine – and this day was no exception. A beautiful mid-September day, the kind of day, when you couldn’t say if it’s summer or autumn: the heat of the summer but the early auburn colours as summer gives way to what is to come.
Had such a wonderful time with them all, an hour or two messing around in the garden, and then a few images in the studio to create some of variety
Just the perfect kind of shoot and I know there are many more to come this year – the winter light in our studio garden creates the most wonderful images!
