I’m sitting writing this post very quickly before heading to a wedding at The Crazy Bear near Oxford. Given all I can hear is the sound of the rain battering the glass behind me, I think it’s a good job that today’s venue is The Crazy Bear – thankfully it really doesn’t matter whether we work inside or out, and there aren’t really too many venues you can hand-on-heart say that about.
Well, it’s been a mad week – with a wedding in Devon on Saturday and then a list of sessions ending in Cadbury yesterday with a guest spot at Princes Risborough Photographic Society (it’s always an honour to present stuff there – they have one of the busiest social programmes I’ve ever encountered) thrown in for good measure.
Anyway, to Patrycja and David’s wedding.
I must have driven past Bradenham Manor hundreds of times as it is only just down the road and almost directly opposite the home of our assistant, Kate. It’s beautiful. And yet I’ve never taken any pictures there before. Well I hope that changes after this wedding. It’s a really lovely venue. Beautiful but still intimate and cozy – perfect for the numbers we were photographing here.
Mind you, ultimate it’s more than the venue that makes a wedding (it helps, but ultimately it’s just a backdrop) – it’s the people. And this was one of those crowds. I have never taken a picture of a bride playing volleyball before – at least, not in her wedding dress! I reckon that single sentence sums up this wedding. It was funny, emotional, joyous and, ultimately, everything a wedding should be. We had a ball (as did the bride by the look of things!)
Have a look and let us know what you think!
